USDA Buys 1,150 MT Pulses
KANSAS CITY - Nov 17/10 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 1,620 metric tons (MT) of yellow split peas for prepositioning in Gulf ports for later shipment as food aid.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 110C, the USDA pulses packed in 50 kg bags. Purchases are for shipment from interior plants between November 16 to December 7 and between December 8 to December 29 for plants located at port.
In releasing the tender results, the USDA noted, "There were no offers for 1,290 MT of Yellow Split Peas under consolidation 425151-1. Rejected due to price was 900 MT of Yellow Split Peas under consolidation 425151-1."
