French Pea Exports Surge Over 2009
VANCOUVER - Nov 10/10 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France during the first quarter of the current marketing year are up 124% over last year, according to data compiled by the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP).
Exports during September totalled 31,420 metric tons (MT), down from the 78,475 MT shipped in August but more than double the 13,795 MT of field peas exported the same month last year.
This lifts field pea exports so far during the 2010-11 marketing year to 126,615 MT, versus 56,545 MT last year.
