Record Start For Pea Exports

VANCOUVER - Nov 2/10 - SNS -- Canadian field pea exporters maintained their record setting pace through October, with export clearances for the first quarter of the 2010-11 marketing year setting a new record.

Movement in October ended up lower than expected as several nominated ships were not loaded during the month and slid into the November.

Even so, the quantity of peas loaded through bulk terminals in August and October beat the previous high by roughly 154,000 metric tons (MT), with almost 785,000 MT of peas shipped the first three months of the marketing year.
