PANAMA - May 24/24 - SNS -- Lentil markets were moderately firmer in relatively light trade conditions during the past week.
Canadian market participants are concerned over the prospect for a strike by the Teamsters Rail Conference Union. Workers voted for a strike, but that decision was referred to the Canadian Industrial Relations Board.
The government asked the board to consider if a strike would have safety implications. Some observers believe waiting for a decision would delay the start date for a strike or lock out by the railways until July.
