Lentils Maintain Price Tone

PANAMA - Feb 16/24 - SNS -- International lentil markets maintained their firm tone during the past week, with values for most classes finishing with week over week gains.

Green lentils remain the focal point on account of tight stocks relative to perceived demand through the balance of the marketing year. That class has seen stronger overall demand since the start of the marketing than reds.

By the end of December Canada exported half of all lentils expected to be shipped in the current marketing year. Total shipmnts were down from the same period in 2022, dropping from roughly 1.08 million to 848,150 metric tons (MT).
