Birdseeds Largely Unchanged
PANAMA - Feb 16/24 - SNS --Birdseed ingredient markets were little changed in seasonally light trading conditions during the past week.
Markets paid no attention to Canada's December 31 stocks in all positions estimates. Though commercial inventories are considered somewhat reliable, few market participants pay attention to stocks on farms. In part, because the survey sample was too small to capture a significant number of canaryseed growers with unsold product.
There is more interest in the March seeding intentions reports for both Canada and the United States. Due on March 11, Statistics Canada is expected to indicate how many acres of sunflower and canaryseed farmers plan to grow this year.
