China's Sunflower Seed Imports Post Slow Performance

PANAMA - Feb 14/24 - SNS -- So far during the current calendar year revealed a weaker month, with sunflower seed imports by China were well down, plunging compared to the previous month in December, according to official statistics from General Customs Administration of China
NOTE: Data for Jan and Feb 2020 is not available.

Imports for the month totalled 23,304 metric tons (MT), down from 32,781 MT the prior month. This lifted imports so far during the calendar year to 280,145, up 43% last year.

During the month, Bulgaria was the most important supplier, selling 10,100 MT. Kazakhstan was the second most important origin shipping 9,976 MT, followed by Russia at 3,224 MT.
