PANAMA - Jan 12/24 - SNS -- North American mustard seed markets were not surprised by the final USDA production estimate for 2023.
Even so, markets finished the week's trading on a softer note, reflecting a seasonal reduction in overall demand and comfort with remaining stocks relativeto prospective demand.
The USDA pegged this year's mustard seed harvest at a record 67,724 metric tons (MT) from 245,000 acres, compared to 44,130 MT from 214,500 acres in 2022.
