Chickpea Exports From Turkey Maintain Solid Tone
PANAMA - Nov 28/23 - SNS -- Turkey's shipments of chickpeas in September were up significantly, rising compared to the previous month, according to data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
Exports during the month totalled 30,811 metric tons (MT), up from 23,987 MT the previous month. This boosted export sales so far during the calendar year to 182,994, up 44% last year.
The latest trade statistics showed Algeria was number one destination, taking 7,360 MT. Italy was the second most important buyer buying 3,598 MT, followed by Iraq at 3,470 MT.
