Australia's Chickpea Exports Post Easy Month
PANAMA - Nov 2/23 - SNS -- Export shipments of chickpeas from Australia sank relative to the previous month in September, data from Australia Bureau of Statistics reports.
Exports totalled 60,797 metric tons (MT) in the month, down 20% from the 75,568 MT exported the previous month. Movement so far total 620,790 MT, versus 545,721 during the last marketing year.
The number one importer throughout the month was Pakistan, buying 35,429 MT. United Arab Emirates was the second most important buyer taking 8,929 MT, followed by Nepal at 8,539 MT.
