WASHINGTON - Aug 11/23 - SNS -- Oats production is forecast at 49.5 million bushels, down 14% from 2022, according to the USDA.
Based on conditions as of August 1, the United States yield is forecast at 61.5 bushels per acre, down 3.3 bushels from the 2022 average yield. A record high yield is expected in Texas.
Oats planted area in the United States was increased 2% to 2.56 million acres, down 1% from 2022. Area harvested for grain is forecast at 804,000 acres, up 1% from the previous forecast but down 10% from last year.
