Lentils Largely Unchanged

PANAMA - Mar 17/23 - SNS -- Lentil markets finished the week's trading little changed, with some concern emerging about possible shortages of some classes of lentils before the coming harvest.

Movement of lentils from farms has been excellent this season, with 62% of what was available delivered to the bulk handling system as of March 12, compared to 41% at the same time last season.

Even so, there remains un certainty about seeded area, with some market participants expecting land in reds could decline, though green lentil seedings stand a good chance of increasing in Canada.
