Australia's Chickpea Exports Start With Firm Tone

PANAMA - Mar 7/23 - SNS -- Australia's movement of chickpeas in January posted significant gains, advancing versus the previous month, according to data from Australia Bureau of Statistics.

The latest statistics showed exports for the month totalled 92,287 metric tons (MT), up 49% from 62,079 the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, movement were up 9% from 194,584 MT.

Pakistan was the most important importer, buying 41,382 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important consumer taking 38,225 MT, followed by Nepal at 4,570 MT.
