Australia's Chickpea Exports Sustain Firm Tone
PANAMA - Feb 7/23 - SNS -- Movement of chickpeas from Australia jumped versus the previous month in December, official trade data from Australia Bureau of Statistics shows.
Shipments totalled 70,133 metric tons (MT) for the month, up 22% from the 57,474 MT exported the previous month. Exports so far total 127,607 MT, versus 123,250 in the same period the previous marketing year.
Recent movement statistics showed Bangladesh was top importer, receiving 36,716 MT for the month. Pakistan was the second most important consumer buying 20,544 MT, followed by Nepal at 3,856 MT.
