WASHINGTON - Jan 12/23 - SNS -- U.S. lentils ended up at 5.49 million cwt (100 pound units) or 249,000 metric tons (MT), up 61% from 2021, according to the USDA's final production estimates for 2022.
Planted area, at 660,000 acres, was down 7% from last year. Harvested area, at 602,000 acres, was up 6% from last year. The average yield was 912 pounds per acre, was up 309 pounds from last year.
