Chickpeas Remain Firm On The Week
PANAMA - Nov 18/22 - SNS -- International chickpea markets maintained their firm tone during the past week, with modest gains reported in some origins for both kabuli and desi type.
Moderate demand from Pakistan and other destinations continued to help desi chickpeas advance in Australia as exporters seek to cover needs and some growers remain reluctant sellers because of fears over this year's yields and quality in parts of Australia.
North American kabuli type managed modest gains in the face of relatively good demand and a somewhat defensive posture on the part of growers in some regions.
