Australia's Chickpea Exports Maintain Weak Tone
PANAMA - Oct 7/22 - SNS -- Movement of chickpeas from Australia were little changed, dropping relative to the previous month in August, data from Australia Bureau of Statistics shows.
Export sales totalled 37,003 metric tons (MT) for the month, down 4% from the 38,677 MT shipped the previous month. Exports so far total 482,307 MT, versus 757,726 in the same period the last marketing year.
For the month, Pakistan was the largest buyer, taking 29,172 MT. Nepal was the second most important destination receiving 2,605 MT, followed by Canada at 1,651 MT.
