WASHINGTON - Jun 30/22 - SNS -- Area seeded to oats for the 2022 crop year is estimated at 2.39 million acres, down 6% from 2021, according to the USDA's seeded area estimates for 2022.
Planted acreage is down or unchanged in 15 of the 23 major producing States compared with last year. Area for harvest, forecast at 796,000 acres, is up 22% from 2021. Record low planted area is estimated in Illinois, Minnesota, Oregon, and Wisconsin.
