Peas Mostly Unchanged
PANAMA - Jan 21/22 - SNS -- Field pea markets were mostly unchanged to firmer during the past week, reflecting tightening stocks on farms relative to prospective demand.
Though China's feed market has effectively shut down because of high trading levels for peas, that country's human consumption market and fractionation industry will remain buyers.
A key factor in markets before the December holiday season was the need of food processors and packers in the United States to restock inventories and the retail pipeline for the winter.
