11% of U.S. Pea Crop In The Ground

WASHINGTON - Apr 20/21 - SNS -- Plantings of this year's field pea crop in the United States is now 11% complete, compared to 6% at this time last year and the recent average of 9%.

Progress remains most rapid in the U.S. pacific northwest, with farmers in Oregon wrapping up plantings, while progress in Oregon is just behind this time last year at 46% complete.

Washington state is registering the slowest progress of the three states in the region, with 24% of the crop in the ground, compared to 48% last year but close to the recent five year average of 26% complete by the third week of April.
