Canada's Green Pea Exports Open On Soft Tone
PANAMA - Apr 7/21 - SNS -- Shipments of green peas for Canada eased relative to the previous month in February, the latest data from Statistics Canada reports.
Total export sales for the month reached 14,237 metric tons (MT), down 11% from the previous month's total of 16,056. So far shipments have totalled 129,899 MT, down from 186,466 during the previous marketing year.
The biggest destination during the month was China, receiving 6,129 MT. Kenya was the second most important importer buying 1,677 MT, followed by Colombia at 1,019 MT.
