Glencore Agriculture Rebranding As Viterra

NEW YORK - Aug 21/20 - SNS -- Glencore Agriculture will change its name to Viterra this year, which some stock market analysts take as a sign Glencore Plc will eventually sell its remaining 49.99% stake in the company.

Glencore Agriculture already operates a separate division from Glencore Plc. and has already been setting up its own legal, technology and financial systems.

Glencore bought Viterra in 2012, making it one of the world's largest grain merchandisers. In 2016 it sold a 50% stake in Viterra to Canadian pension funds CPP Investments and British Colombia Investment Management Corporation (BCI). That sale led to Glencore Agriculture becoming a separate entity to Glencore Plc.
