French Exports Drop in May
PARIS - Jul 9/20 - SNS -- French field pea export volumes dropped in May as the country's 2019-2, marketing campaign draws to a close according to data from Eurostat and Terres Univia.
Export shipments during the month totalled 29,345 metric tons (MT), down 18% the 35,915 MT shipped the previous month, and up 32% from the 22,290 MT shipped the same month last year.
This lifted season to date export shipments to 242,500 MT, up 24% from the 195,735 MT shipped during the same period last season. So far this marketing year, European Union destinations accounted for 88.2% of all pea exports, compared to 97.9% last season.
