Peas Closing 2019 Unchanged
PANAMA - Dec 29/19 - SNS -- International field pea markets finished the week's trading little changed, with most growers and exporters withdrawn from markets for the holiday period.
India's farmers continued to make above average progress seeding this year's rabi season's pulse crops during the past week, lifting land in all pulses to 14.013 million hectares for the week ending December 27, up from 13.683 million last year and above the recent average of 13.613 million.
Breaking down seeding progress by class, India said land in gram or chickpeas now totals 9.496 million hectares, just above the 8.989 at this time last year. Lentil plantings are down from 1.59 million at 1.518 million hectares, while field pea seedings have advanced from 881,000 to 908,000.
