Soybean Imports From Portugal Record Easy Performance

PANAMA - Feb 22/19 - SNS -- Imports of soybeans by Portugal were slightly lower, falling relative to the previous month in December, trade data from Eurostat reports.

Imports during the month totalled 122,281 metric tons (MT), down from 145,047 MT the prior month. This increased imports so far during the calendar year to 1,186,429, up 49% last year.

Current trade data showed United States was biggest shipper, selling 95,021 MT for the month. Germany was the second most important exporter selling 26,974 MT, followed by Spain at 163 MT.
