WASHINGTON - Sep 28/18 - SNS -- This year's rye harvest in the United States totalled 8.43 million bushels, down 13% from the 2017 total of 9.70 million bushels, according to the USDA's annual small grains production report.
Harvested area totaled 273,000 acres, down 13,000 acres from 2017. The United States yield, at 30.9 bushels per acre, was down 3.0 bushels from the previous year.
