High Temps Keep Peas Simmering

PANAMA - Jul 30/17 - SNS -- Field pea markets were generally firmer during the past week as scorching temperatures settled over Saskatchewan for the weekend.

Weather forecast for the coming week show no relief from higher than normal temperatures across the province. Isolated thunder storm activity could be seen in some areas during the week, but the outlook is otherwise dry.

Reports from companies suggest the crop is holding up reasonably well, with some rating crops in Saskatchewan and Manitoba in mostly good condition, versus mostly fair to poor in Alberta.
