USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Dec 18/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Dec 18.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, grain and soybeans were lower.  Corn and soybeans were
pressured by favorable weather reports in Brazil.  The NOPA soybean crush was
much lower than expected at 156.1 mb down from 161.2 mb from last year.
Sluggish export sales, the Fed raising interest rates to a quarter percent which
was bullish for the US dollar had bearish influences on the grain market.  Wheat
saw declines on plentiful supplies and slow exports sales.  Weekly export sales
for all wheat came in at 11.8 mb (320,200 mt) with all for the 2015-2016
marketing year.  Export sales for corn was listed at 26.7 mb (677,600 mt) with
22.8 mb (579,400 mt) for the 2015-2016 marketing year.  Grain sorghum (milo) was
reported at 6.6 mb (168,500 mt) with all for the 2015-2016 marketing year.
Sales of soybeans were at 37.6 mb (1,023,800 mt) with 32.6 mb (887,800 mt) for
the 2015-2016 marketing year.  Wheat was mostly 7-11 cents lower.  Corn was 5-9
cents lower.  Sorghum was 9-10 cents lower.  Soybeans were mostly 1-4 cents
lower.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 9
1/4 cents lower from 5.57 1/2-5.75 1/2 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red
winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter
terminal bid was 11 cents lower from 4.09-4.36 per bushel.  Minneapolis and
Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 7
1/2 cents lower to 7 1/2 cents higher from 6.13-6.18 per bushel.  Portland US
Soft White wheat rail was not available per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 5 to 9 cents lower from 3.88-
4.00 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 5 cents lower from
3.75 1/4-3.77 1/4 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 5 cents lower from
3.59-3.63 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 5 to 9 cents lower from
3.58 1/4-3.84 1/4 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 5 cents lower
from 3.79 1/4-3.83 1/4 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 5
cents lower at 3.29 1/4 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 19 1/2 to 67 1/2 cents lower at 2.28 per bushel.  US No 3 or better rail
malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not available
per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not
available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 9 cents lower at 6.59 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 9 to 10 cents lower from 5.69-5.97 per cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 1 1/4 cents lower at 8.27
per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 4 1/4 cents
lower to 2 3/4 cents higher from 8.82-8.96 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2
Yellow truck soybeans were 11/4 cents lower from 8.79-8.80 per bushel.  Illinois
48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 10 cents to 2.10 higher from
287.90-290.90 per ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 122
to 172 points lower from 28.32-30.07 cents per pound.
