LITTLE ROCK - Oct 26/15 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.
National Weekly Rice Summary (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California) Domestic Trend In the south, long grain milled rice prices mostly steady, instances .50 higher in Texas; medium grain prices steady. Parboiled prices steady. Second heads and Brewers rice prices mostly steady, instances .50 to 2.00 higher in Texas. Rice by-products: Rice Bran steady, instances 50.00 higher in Texas. Millfeed and ground hull prices steady. Throughout the south, the field yields were very uneven from farm to farm. Farmers continue to hold rough rice for higher prices. In California, medium grain milled rice prices mostly steady. Second heads and Brewers rice prices mostly steady. Rice by-products: Rice Bran prices mostly steady; ground hull prices not well tested. As harvest acres increase with excellent quality crop, market prices remain weak for new milling season. CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Oct 23rd, Nov 15 closed .28 lower at 11.855; Jan 16 closed .28 lower at 12.14; Mar 16 closed .285 lower at 12.415. US dollar index on Friday settled at 97.08.
