USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Oct 23/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Oct 23.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, grain and soybeans were mixed.  Grains were pressured
by good harvest weather, a higher dollar index and slower export sales.  Harvest
continues to progress with 59 percent of the corn completed and 77 percent for
soybeans.  Winter wheat is 76 percent planted with heavy rain forecasted for
parts of the Southwestern Plains.  Weekly export sales of corn were bearish
coming in at 9.8 mb (248,000 mt) with all for the 2015-2016 marketing year.
Export sales for soybeans were listed at 74.7 mb (2,032,400 mt) with 74.6 mb
(2,030,800 mt) for the 2015-2016 marketing year.  Wheat export sales were 13.2
mb (359,200 mt) with nearly all for the 2015-2016 marketing year.  Wheat was 5-
20 cents lower.  Corn was 12 cents lower to 26 cents higher.  Sorghum was 1 cent
lower to 5 cents higher.  Soybeans were 12-16 cents lower.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 5
3/4 to 15 3/4 cents lower from 5.45 1/2-5.55 1/2 per bushel.  Kansas City US No
2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red
Winter terminal bid was 12 cents lower from 4.05-4.50 per bushel.  Minneapolis
and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was
15 1/2 to 20 1/2 cents lower from 6.13-6.28 per bushel.  Portland US Soft White
wheat rail traded 6 1/4 to 11 3/4 cents lower from 5.20 3/4-5.52 3/4 per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 3 to 4 cents higher from 3.78-
3.84 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 14 3/4 to 19 3/4
cents higher at 3.73 1/4 cents per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 2
cents lower to 1 cent higher from 3.46-3.50 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow
Corn was 12 1/4 cents lower to 4 3/4 cents higher from 3.65 1/4-3.88 1/4 per
bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 8 3/4 to 12 3/4 cents higher from
3.78 1/4-3.83 1/4 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 26 3/4
cents higher at 3.52 1/4 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 9 1/2 cents lower from 2.35-2.80 per bushel.  US No 3 or better rail
malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not available
per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not
available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 5 cents higher at 6.22 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 1 cent lower to 3 cents higher from 5.94-6.21 per cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 12 1/2 cents lower at 8.63
3/4 per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 1 1/2
cents lower to 3 1/2 cents higher from 8.98 3/4-9.08 3/4 per bushel.  Kansas
City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 16 1/2 cents lower at 8.83 3/4 per
bushel.  Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 1.80 higher
from 325.80-327.80 per ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid
was 27 points higher from 27.10-28.10 cents per pound.
