ST. JOSEPH - Sep 18/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Sep 18.
WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Compared to last week, grain and soybean bids were mixed. Early support spilled from last weeks bullish USDA report. Favorable weather across the Midwest for early harvest had corn under pressure. Harvest is underway in some areas but the majority still waiting to materialize. Corn and soybean basis continue to drop as new crop will be readily available. Concerns over the Federal Reserve interest rate triggered more losses later in the week. The NOPA crush numbers were supportive coming in at 135.1 million bushels of soybeans crushed. Weekly export sales for corn came in at 21 mb (533,000 mt), all for the 2015-2016 marketing year. Export sales for soybeans were neutral coming in at 33.5 mb (912,800 mt), with nearly all for the 2015-2016 marketing year. Wheat sales were bullish at 18.8 mb (510,700 mt) with 13.9 mb (377,500 mt) for the 2015-2016 marketing year. Wheat was mixed from 32 cents lower to 61 cents higher. Corn was 8 cents lower to 33 cents higher. Sorghum was 4 cents lower to 19 cents higher. Soybeans were 1/2 cent to 10 cent higher. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 1 3/4 to 8 3/4 cents higher from 5.25 1/4-5.51 1/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 2 to 32 cents lower from 3.96-4.06 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 36 1/2 to 61 3/4 cents higher from 6.15 1/4-6.35 1/4 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail was 1 to 1 1/2 cents higher from 5.34-5.36 1/2 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 11 to 12 cents higher from 3.79-3.86 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 1/2 to 1 1/2 cents higher from 3.59 3/4-3.62 3/4 cents per bushel. Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 2 cents lower to 4 cents higher from 3.50-3.60 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 5 1/2 to 33 1/2 cents higher from 3.61 3/4-3.92 3/4 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 4 1/2 to 8 1/2 cents lower from 3.64 3/4- 3.71 3/4 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 1/2 cents higher at 3.19 3/4 per bushel. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 1/4 to 40 1/4 cents lower from 2.46 3/4-2.86 3/4 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was at 4.95 per bushel. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not available. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 10 to 19 cents higher at 6.16 cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 4 cents lower to 10 cents higher from 5.89-6.27 per cwt. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 10 1/2 cents higher at 8.49 1/2 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 1/2 to 5 1/2 cents higher from 8.89 1/2-9.09 1/2 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 1/2 cents higher at 8.94 1/2 per bushel. Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 80 cents lower to 5.20 higher from 333.20-335.20 per ton.
