U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Sep 14/15 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

                             Domestic Trend
   In the south, long and medium grain milled rice prices firm, instances .75 to 1.00
higher on the bottom side of the price range in Texas.  Parboiled, Second heads and
Brewers rice prices remain steady.  Rice by-products:  Rice Bran and Millfeed and
ground hull prices steady to firm.  According to NASS as of Sep 13, Louisiana 94%,
Texas 93%, Mississippi 45% and Arkansas 41% harvest completed.  Throughout the south
the field yields are coming in around 10-15% under the average.  With the recent
uptick in rough rice futures, bid/ask price spreads on rough rice continues to
expand.
   In California, medium grain milled rice prices remain steady to firm.  Second
heads and Brewers rice prices steady.  Rice by-products:  Rice Bran prices steady;
ground hull prices not well tested.  California has started to slowly tap into rice
harvest.  According to NASS as of Sep 13, around 10% of the rice crop has been
harvested.  Market is mostly at a standstill.
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Sep 11th, Sep 15 closed .165 higher at
12.60; Nov 15 closed .16 higher at 12.83; Jan 16 closed .16 higher at 13.11.  US
dollar index on Friday settled at 95.18.
