National Weekly Rice Summary (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California) Domestic Trend In the south, long and medium grain milled rice prices firm. Parboiled, Second heads and Brewers rice prices steady. Rice by-products: Rice Bran and Millfeed and ground hull prices steady to weak. According to NASS as of Sep 06, Louisiana 90%, Texas 76%, Mississippi 34% and Arkansas 30% harvest completed. The current bid/ask prices between farmers and mills are very wide spread. In California, medium grain milled rice prices steady to firm. Second heads and Brewers rice prices steady. Rice by-products: Rice Bran prices steady; ground hull prices not well tested. California has started to slowly tap into rice harvest. According to NASS as of Sep 06, around 1% of the rice crop has been harvested. CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Sep 4th, Sep 15 closed .055 higher at 11.85; Nov 15 closed .05 higher at 12.11; Jan 16 closed .05 higher at 12.40. US dollar index on Friday settled at 96.22.
