U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Sep 8/15 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

                             Domestic Trend
   In the south, long and medium grain milled rice prices firm.  Parboiled,
Second heads and Brewers rice prices steady.  Rice by-products:  Rice Bran and
Millfeed and ground hull prices steady to weak.  According to NASS as of Sep 06,
Louisiana 90%, Texas 76%, Mississippi 34% and Arkansas 30% harvest completed.  The
current bid/ask prices between farmers and mills are very wide spread.
   In California, medium grain milled rice prices steady to firm.  Second heads and
Brewers rice prices steady.  Rice by-products:  Rice Bran prices steady; ground hull
prices not well tested.  California has started to slowly tap into rice harvest.
According to NASS as of Sep 06, around 1% of the rice crop has been harvested.
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Sep 4th, Sep 15 closed .055 higher at 11.85;
Nov 15 closed .05 higher at 12.11; Jan 16 closed .05 higher at 12.40.  US dollar
index on Friday settled at 96.22.
