USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Apr 3/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Apr 3.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, wheat traded with sharply higher gains as draught
areas in the western Plains have expanded with weather in the Plain states being
closely watched.  The stocks for Hard Red Winter Wheat are tighter than normal.
USDA’s Grain Stocks and Prospective Plantings report was issued on Tuesday and
pointed to larger than expected corn supplies and smaller than expected soybean
supplies.  USDA estimated 89.2 million acres of corn would be planted which is
1.5 percent lower than last year but 460,000 more acres than expected by
analysts.  March 1 corn stocks were pegged at 7,740 billion bushels, 11 percent
more than last year and 130 million bushels more than expected.  Soybean stocks
were estimated slightly lower than expected at 1.33 billion bushels but still
but 34 percent more than last year’s low levels.  Weekly export sales for corn
totaled 17.0 mb with 16.0 mb for 2014-2015 marketing year.  Soybeans came in at
21.9 mb with 1.0 mb for 2014-2015 marketing year.  Wheat had export sales of
10.8 mb with 6.0 mb for 2014-2015 marketing year.  Wheat was mostly 37-61 cents
higher.  Corn was 4-6 cents lower with Sorghum 8 cents lower.  Soybeans were 11-
18 cents lower.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 39
3/4 cents higher from 6.77 3/4-6.92 3/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Soft
Red winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter
terminal bid was 37 cents higher at 5.36 per bushel.  Minneapolis and
Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was
32 1/4-42 1/4 cents higher from 7.75 1/2-8.05 1/2 per bushel.  Portland US Soft
White wheat rail was 37-61 1/4 cents higher from at 6.76 1/4 per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 8-11 cents lower from 3.88-
3.99 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 4 3/4 cents lower at
3.86 1/2 per bushel.  Omaha corn was 6 cents lower from 3.80-3.85 per bushel.
Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 4 3/4 cents lower from 3.73 1/2-3.89 1/2 per
bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 4 3/4 cents lower from 3.79 1/2-
3.80 1/2 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 3/4 cents lower
at 3.61 1/2 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 8 3/4 cents lower from 2.84-3.24 per bushel.  US No 3 or better rail
malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not available
per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not
available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 9 cents lower at 8.15 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 8 cents lower from 7.17-7.60 per bushel.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 12 1/2 cents higher at 9.72
per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 11 1/2-18
1/2 cents higher from 9.96-10.03 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck
soybeans were 17 1/2 cents higher at 10.104 per bushel.  Illinois 48 percent
Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 1.90-4.90 higher from 349.30-353.30 per
ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 13-37 points lower
from 30.54-31.29 cents per pound.
