ST. JOSEPH - Mar 6/15 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Mar 6.
WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Compared to last week, grain and soybean bids were mixed. Cold weather and snow is not encouraging producers to sell corn, which helped corn find some support, along with good export sales. Soybeans had losses as concern over Brazils truck strike is less concerning and favorable harvest weather in South America. Wheat saw declines as precipitation moved in across the HRW wheat areas and good wheat conditions. Slow export sales and a rising US dollar added pressure as well. Weekly export sales for corn were bullish coming in at 38.8 mb (986,800 mt), with 32.6 mb (828,100 mt) for the 2014-2015 marketing year. Export sales for soybeans were good coming in at 18.4 mb (501,200 mt) with 18.4 mb (499,500 mt) for the 2014-2015 marketing year. Wheat export sales were bearish at 18.7 mb (507,600 mt), with 17.3 mb (469,600 mt) for the 2014-2015 marketing year. Wheat was 37 cents lower to 86 cents higher. Corn was 2-8 cents higher. Sorghum was 1.47 higher. Soybeans were 38-43 cents lower. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 15 1/2 cents lower from 6.06-6.16 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 23 to 27 cents lower from 4.80-4.85 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 61 3/4 to 86 3/4 cents higher from 8.03 1/2-8.18 1/2 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail was at 6.20 1/2-6.25 1/2 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 6 to 8 cents higher from 3.88- 3.93 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 cents higher from 3.81 1/2-3.85 1/2 per bushel. Omaha corn was 4 to 8 cents higher from 3.83-3.84 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 cents higher from 3.72 1/2-3.89 1/2 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 2 to 5 1/2 cents higher 3.70 1/2-3.77 1/2 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 2 1/2 cents higher at 3.61 1/2 per bushel. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 5 cents higher from 3.01 1/2-3.41 1/2 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not available per bushel. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not available. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 1.47 higher at 8.26 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was at 7.24-7.25 per bushel. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 40 1/2 cents lower at 9.48 1/2 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 38 1/2 to 41 1/2 cents lower from 9.87 1/2-10.00 1/2 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 43 1/2 cents lower at 9.90 1/2 per bushel. Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 20.40 to 21.40 lower from 360.20-365.20 per ton.
