USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Dec 24/14 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Dec 24.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, wheat closed with sharp losses as buying support dried
up on concerns with the Russian economy and with wheat near five month highs has
some thinking producers could be in a selling mood.  Corn closed with slight
losses for the shortened holiday week but corn still has good feed demand and
ethanol demand.  Soybeans closed with slight to modest losses on favorable
growing conditions in South America.  Wheat for the week closed mostly 44-59
cents lower.  Corn traded 1-3 cents lower with grain sorghum closing 6 cents
lower.  Soybeans closed 6-15 cents lower.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 54
3/4-59 3/4 cents lower from 7.34-7.44 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red
winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter
terminal bid was 44 cents lower from 6.11-6.26 per bushel.  Minneapolis and
Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 53
1/2-113.1/2 lower from 7.07 1/2-8.07 1/2 per bushel.  Portland US Soft White
wheat rail was not available.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 1 cent lower to 1 cent higher
from 3.96-4.05 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 1/4 cent
lower from 3.82 3/4-3.88 3/4 per bushel.  Omaha corn was 1-2 cents lower from
3.82-3.93 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 1 1/4-3 1/4 cents lower
from 3.73 3/4-4.01 3/4 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was not
available.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 3 1/4 cents lower at 3.67
3/4 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 8 1/2 cents lower from 3.22 3/4-3.57 3/4 per bushel.  US No 3 or better
rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was steady at
7.35 per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not
available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 6 cents lower at 7.28 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was not available.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 15 1/4 cents lower at 9.69
3/4 per bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 6 1/4
cents lower from 10.23 3/4-10.38 3/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow
truck soybeans were 6 1/4 cents lower at 10.23 3/4 per bushel.  Illinois 48
percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was2.10-5.10 higher from 426.40-427.40
per ton.  Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 21 to 31 points
lower from 31.18-33.18 cents per pound.
