U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Oct 27/14 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

                       National Weekly Rice Summary
                 (Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas-California)
                             Domestic Trend
   In the south, long and medium grain rice prices steady.  Parboiled and Second
heads prices steady; Brewers trading steady to 1.00 lower.  Rice by-products:  rice
bran prices mostly steady, few 10.00 lower in Arkansas; millfeed mostly steady, few
5.00 higher in Arkansas; ground hulls prices mostly steady, few 7.00 higher in
Arkansas.  Louisiana Rough Rice price quotes .14 cents per CWT lower, however no
trades reported at this price level as the bid/ask price spread is to wide.  Rice
mills currently operating slower than normal.
   In California, medium and short grain rice prices steady.  Second heads and
Brewers prices steady.  Rice by-products:  rice bran and ground hulls prices steady.
Majority of harvest is completed with most farmers currently preparing fields for
fall and winter.  Water issues continue to be a hot topic for discussion throughout
the state.
   CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday Oct 24th, Nov 14 closed .04 higher at
12.405; Jan 15 closed .035 higher at 12.63; Mar 15 closed .04 higher at 12.89.  US
dollar index on Friday settled at 85.73.
