Red Meat Output Below Previous Year
Commercial red meat production for the United States totaled 3.91 billion
pounds in July, down 6 percent from the 4.16 billion pounds produced in July
2013.
Beef production, at 2.09 billion pounds, was 9 percent below the previous
year. Cattle slaughter totaled 2.60 million head, down 10 percent from July
