U.S. National Weekly Rice Summary

LITTLE ROCK - Aug 11/14 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

                             Domestic Trend
   In the south, old crop long and medium grain rice prices remain steady; parboiled
prices mostly steady; second heads steady; brewers mostly steady.  Rice by-products:
rice bran prices mostly steady to 10.00 lower; rice millfeed 5.00 to 10.00 lower;
hulls steady to 5.00 lower with limited current sales.  Louisiana new crop Rough Rice
prices mostly steady on limited current trades, however majority of producers
currently passing.  The south does not see anything happen until all states are well
into harvest.  Louisiana is currently harvesting, however we have no current progress
reports at this time.
   In California, old crop medium and short grain milled rice prices remain steady;
second heads and brewers steady.  Rice by-products:  rice bran prices 5.00 lower;
hulls steady to firm.  Currently old crop trade very light with most producers
waiting until new crop harvest starts.  New crop harvest scheduled to start around
Sept 1st with milled rice available around Sept 15th.
   On the CME Rough Rice settlements for Friday August 8th, September 2014 closed
.075 lower at 12.66.  November 2014 closed .06 lower at 12.78.  US dollar index on
Friday August 8th settled at 81.53.
