WASHINGTON - Jun 30/14 - SNS -- The 2014 planted area for rye is estimated at 1.43 million acres, down 1% from 2013, according to the USDA's seeded area report for 2014.
Harvested area is expected to total 306,000 acres, up 10% from last year. As of June 22, rye in Oklahoma, the largest rye-producing State, was 44% harvested, 28 percentage points behind the 5-year average pace.
