USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Jan 31/14 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Jan 31.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
   Compared to last week, grain and soybean bids were mixed.  Wheat suffered
from heavy volume selling with plentiful supplies and buyers showing little
buying interest.  Yellow corn and soybeans saw support from good export sales.
However, soybeans had bearish news with reports of increased production of
soybeans in Brazil with estimates of 89.5 mmt.  Corn had bullish export sales
totaling 1,943,600 tonnes with 1,837,900 tonnes for 2013-2014 marketing year.
Soybean export sales were good coming in at 865,800 tonnes with 494,800 tonnes
for 2013-2014 marketing year.  Wheat had bullish export sales totaling 794,900
tonnes for 2013-2014 marketing year.  Wheat was mostly 16-26 cents lower.
Yellow Corn was 2-9 cents higher.  Sorghum was 8 cents higher.  Soybeans were 4
cents lower to 5 cents higher.
   WHEAT:  Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 1
1/2 to 21 1/2 cents lower from 7.15 3/4-7.70 3/4 per bushel.  Kansas City US No
2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted.  St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red
Winter terminal bid was 24 cents lower at 5.78 per bushel.  Minneapolis and
Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 20
cents lower at 8.97 1/4 per bushel.  Portland US Soft White wheat rail
was 16 1/2-26 1/2 cents lower from 6.58 1/2-6.63 1/2 per bushel.
   CORN:  Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 1-2 cents lower from 4.75-4.79
per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 2 1/2-4 1/2 cents higher
at 4.38 1/2 per bushel.  Omaha US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 6-9 cents higher
from 4.24-4.28 per bushel.  Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 4 1/2 cents higher
from 4.18 1/2-4.40 1/2 per bushel.  Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 3 1/2-5
1/2 cents higher from 4.17 1/2-4.23 1/2 per bushel.  Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow
corn rail was 4 1/2 cents higher at 4.16 1/2 per bushel.
   OATS AND BARLEY:  US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20
day was 42 3/4 cents higher at 4.67 per bushel.  US No 3 or better rail malting
Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was 10 cents lower at 5.60
per bushel.  Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not
available.
   SORGHUM:  US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 8 cents higher at 7.83 per
cwt.  Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the
farmer, fob elevator) was 8 cents higher from 7.47-7.74 per cwt.
   OILSEEDS:  Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans were 2 cents lower at 12.45 per
bushel.  Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 2-4 cents
lower from 12.81-13.00 per bushel.  Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans
were 3-5 cents higher from 12.95-13.00 per bushel.  Central Illinois 48 percent
Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 6.50 higher from 480.20-486.20 per ton.
Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 69-79 points lower from
33.92-34.07 cents per pound.
