Hawaii Taro Harvest Sinks 11%
WASHINGTON - Jan 10/14 - SNS -- Hawaii taro production for the 2013 crop year is 3.10 million pounds, down 11% from the previous year, according to the USDA's final production estimates for the 2013 crop.
Area in crop, at 400 acres, is unchanged from 2012. Drought conditions and reported problems with water delivery impacted overall production.
