USDA Tenders for 200 MT Peas

KANSAS CITY - Jan 9/14 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here is seeking offers of 200 metric tons (MT) of peas for shipment as food aid.

Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 200002274 the USDA is buying pulses packed in 50 kg bags.

Purchases are for shipment from interior plants between February 16 to March 9 and between March 10 to March 31 for plants located at port.

Tendering text : FGIS to provide documentation certifying: "The U.S. pea industry generally
commingles and rotates peas to ensure good condition and quality. While there is no viable
method to determine the crop year, an official grade, based on an official FGIS inspection,
has been established for peas to ensure that the desired quality will be shipped. This type
and grade of pea is sold, processed, and consumed in the United States."
