Pulse Seeding Passes Halfway Mark in Saskatchewan

SASKATOON - May 13/21 - SNS -- Seeding of this year's crops made good progress in Saskatchewan during the past week, with reports of rain activity in parts of the province creating optimism about crop prospects in those regions.

Saskatchewan Agriculture reports seeding of all crops was 38% complete as the week got underway, compared to the previous five year average of 22% and only 18% in the ground at this time last year.

Despite the rain, provincial moisture conditions slipped during the previous week, with topsoil moisture rated 31% adequate, 45% short and 23% very short.
