MELBOURNE - Oct 17/19 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure has stretched over the state bringing clear and dry conditions across the state. A cold front will begin to move into the southwest of the state on Friday evening, clearing from the northeast early Sunday. Behind this feature, another stronger high pressure system will extend across the state. Forecast for the rest of FridayDry and sunny. Possible raised dust in the west. Daytime temperatures near average, tending a little above average in the southwest and northeast. Westerly winds, tending northeasterly about the northeast during the afternoon and variable about the northern inland.Fire Danger - Very High: Greater Hunter, New England, Northern Slopes and North Western fire districts.Saturday 19 OctoberThe chance of a shower or thunderstorm about a southern coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of a shower about the southwest slopes and alps. Dry and sunny elsewhere. Daytime temperatures above average in the northeast, tending to below average in the southern inland. Westerly winds, gusty at times, shifting south southwesterly behind a change moving up the coast.Sunday 20 OctoberDry and mostly sunny. Daytime temperatures mostly below average. South to southwesterly winds, tending southeasterly along the northern and central coasts.Monday 21 OctoberDry and mostly sunny. Daytime temperatures mostly a little above average, tending below average along the coast.
