Field Pea Exports From Canada Sustain Solid Trend
PANAMA - Jul 3/19 - SNS -- Canada's shipments of field peas in May jumped compared to the previous month, according to data from Statistics Canada.
Exports totalled 354,001 metric tons (MT) for the month, up 22% from the 291,130 MT shipped the previous month. Shipments so far total 2,654,987 MT, compared to 2,501,650 in the same period the last marketing year.
During the month, China was the largest importer, receiving 179,331 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important consumer taking 89,700 MT, followed by India at 27,176 MT.
