WASHINGTON - Mar 29/19 - SNS -- Flaxseed growers intend to plant 345,000 acres, up 137,000 acres or 66% more than was planted in 2018, according to this year's USDA seeding intentions report.
Acreage in North Dakota, the largest flaxseed-producing State, is up 76%, or 125,000 acres, from 2018. Beginning in 2019, flaxseed estimates were discontinued in South Dakota..
