Portugal's Soybean Imports Open On Easy Tendency

PANAMA - Mar 20/19 - SNS -- Are beginning the current calendar year with a weaker note, with soybean imports by Portugal posted significant declines, slumping relative to the previous month in January, according to official trade data from Eurostat.

Imports for the opening month of the calendar year totalled 80,838 metric tons (MT), down 34% from 122,152 MT the previous month. The statistics revealed imports is down 37% from the 128,826 MT recorded for the same month last year.

The most recent trade statistics reported United States was biggest export origin, supplying 80,083 MT. Spain was the second most important origin selling 642 MT, followed by France at 75 MT.
