MELBOURNE - Mar 19/19 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad trough of low pressure lies off the New South Wales coast. A trough in the upper levels of the atmosphere will heighten shower and storm activity near the coast today and Wednesday as it moves east into the Tasman Sea and weakens. A broad, weak trough also lies over inland New South Wales, and will likely deepen later Friday in the far west of the state. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayShowers and the chance of a thunderstorm along the coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of a shower or storm extending to the South West Slopes during the afternoon. Dry and partly cloudy in the west. Northeast to southeasterly winds along the coast, and southeast to southwesterly winds inland.Wednesday 20 MarchShowers and possible thunderstorms in the east. Dry and mostly sunny in the west. Daytime temperatures above average, except in coastal areas. Northeast to southeasterly winds along the coast, and generally light variable winds inland.Thursday 21 MarchShowers and possible thunderstorms in the east. Dry and partly cloudy in the west. Daytime temperatures generally above average, most notably in the southwest, although below average near the coast. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Friday 22 MarchA shower or two and a possible thunderstorm in the northeast and also along the far southern ranges. Slight chance of a shower in the east. Daytime temperatures generally above average, most notably in the west, although below average near the coast. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Saturday 23 MarchThe chance of a shower in the east of the state and the southern inland, more likely about the ranges.
