MELBOURNE - Jun 22/18 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure extends across southern Australia. A cold front is expected to move across southern and mountain Victoria during Saturday as a large high forms south of the Bight. The high will move slowly east as it extends another ridge over inland Victoria, with the high centre expected to be near the Vic/SA border by late Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayAreas of morning frost and fog. Isolated showers in south Gippsland clearing during the morning. Isolated showers developing near the far west coast in the late afternoon and evening. Cool and partly cloudy with light to moderate northwesterly winds.Saturday 23 JuneMorning fog and frost patches in the north and east. Cloud increasing with isolated showers extending from the southwest during the day, mainly on and south of the ranges. Showers falling as snow above 1200 metres. Cool with light to moderate northwesterly winds shifting southwesterly during the day.Sunday 24 JuneMorning fog and frost patches inland. Isolated showers in the south, mainly near the coast and falling as snow above 1200 metres. Cool to cold and mostly cloudy with light to moderate southwesterly winds.Monday 25 JuneMorning fog patches inland. Early frost in the northeast. Isolated showers near the coast.
